The Harp Centre of Wales - Fine quality Celtic & Folk Harps

What is a Community Enterprise Business?

We were set up in 2004 as a Community Enterprise Business, with a board of voluntary directors from the local area. Sometimes known as a ‘Social Enterprise’, our company is a little different to others.

With the help of Ceredigion County Council and the European Union we purchased an old school in Llandysul and equipped it to develop a range of harps. We wanted to secure the harp making tradition of Wales for future generations by providing a Centre of Excellence for the harp in Wales.

What is a Community Enterprise Business?

We employ a small team of harp makers and sales/office staff who all live in the local area and who are proud to be involved with an iconic Welsh company.

We also involve the local community in many different ways. Our voluntary board of directors consists of local people who share their business knowledge and time with The Harp Centre, and are keen to be involved at all levels as the company grows. We also receive advice from the economic development department of our county council.

We involve our local schools by providing work experience to both pupils and teachers and provide recording facilities for their exams, and involve members of the local Stroke Association with work-based rehabilitation.

What is a Community Enterprise Business?

Throughout the year we organise and attend concerts, local events as well as those further afield.  We are involved in the local tourism initiative to encourage visitors to Llandysul as well as West Wales as a whole and are happy to provide workshop tours by appointment for groups and individuals.

Please contact us to arrange a visit for your group.
